Polarmond 
German Approved 16.3 Grey 1979 ATA Stallion
Polarmond, by Erlkonig out of Polarmeer, was bred and born
at the Trakehner Gestut Rantzau in 1979. After his approval he
was then imported to Canada by Guenter Bertelmann, where he
was then approved by the Canadian Hunter Improvement
Society. After standing at stud there for several years, he was
purchased by Barr Trak Farm of Columbia, Missouri and
became a popular producer of dressage and jumping horses
in the Midwest. He has the distinction of being one of four
Magnet grandsons standing in the United States, and possesses
and produces the movement that Magnet was so famous for. At
the age of 17 he came to Klarmond Trakehners where he has
continued to produce fine foals and provide great enjoyment for
his new owners as "The King" of the farm. For ten years he
lived with his constant companion Zeitgeist, a bright chestnut
daughter of Preussengeist x Zitzewitz, and they raised their foals
together in the paddocks that they shared together. When she
passed in February 2006 at the age of 28, he took her loss very
well and continues to show great interest in his life, including the
mares and foals along with all of the activities in the barn. At 28
years young, Polarmond seems more like a 10 year old horse
because of his lively ways and continued supple movement. He
is a wonderful inspiration to all who know him.
